Forum 4.3 - What is Deviant Behavior?

Guiding Thought Question: Predict what deviance in terms of within a social structure, and why sociologists would be interested in studying it.

Today's Learning Objective: Students will know the sociological principles of deviance and be able to answer thought questions connected to the ideas of the principles.

deviance means rebelling society and the rules of your group. it would be fun to observe deviance and to see who and where people become deviant and why.

Deviance is the differences in society and basically going against the grain. It is interesting because it is such an anomaly. Most people would conform in societal situations. For this reason, outcasts are interesting.

Deviance is going against the societal norms and changing of behavior to be set apart from conformity.

I think deviance is trying to be different. Like someone is trying to do something different. I think that it can be a good or bad thing.
