Guiding Inquiry: What is the Anthropocene and is it a fair way to classify our current time period? (3.2.a, 3.3.a)

Guiding Thought Question: Is it fair to claim that humans are now the dominant force of change on the planet or does it just connect to a view of ourselves as more influential than we actually are? Provide an example to support to your ideas. 

Today's Learning Objective: Students will examine the definition of the Anthropocene and debate its usage by completing an in-class writing assignment.

Guiding Inquiry: What responsibility do we have to maintain natural resources? Or are they simply here for our use? (3.3.a, 3.4.a)

Guiding thought Question: What do you think it would take to take to convince climate and environmental skeptics that humans are having a marked effect on the environment?

Today's Learning Objective: Students will review theories of population and how they reflect human's relationship with the environment and debate the ideas of environmental determinism and possibilism.
