Guiding Inquiry: What does the world as a whole gain through the conservation of cultural and natural areas? (1.1.c, 1.1.d, 1.1.e, 2.1.a, 2.5.c, 2.5.d, 2.6.a, 2.8.c, 2.9.b, 3.1.a, 3.2.a, 3.2.b, 3.3.b, 3.5.a, 3.5.b)

Guiding Thought Question: Why is it so imperative that setting aside land as conservation areas is a priority now and not something that should be set aside? Make an appeal to why countries should make this a priority with a supportive example.

Today's Learning Objective: Students will examine the distribution of terrestrial and marine protected areas by analyzing spatial data and developing an inquiry styled approach to address a question which they develop.
