Guiding Inquiry: How are the freshwater ecosystems different than the marine systems and where are they located? Guiding Thought Question: What is more important? The protecting the spawning areas of fish and aquatic species or open seas/deep waters? Today's Learning Objective: Students will examine and be able to explain issues related to freshwater regions and further dive into concerns related to the regions in their unit portfolio (3.3.a, 3.2.a) |

Guiding Thought Question: What is the most difficulty you are having for completing the portfolio project?
Guiding Inquiry: How do the biomes differ in their ability to support populations of diverse species? Objective: Students will be able to identify the locations of, ecological considerations of, and floral and faunal adaptions to different biome regions around the world by completing a test at the end of the unit and comprehensive portfolio.
Guiding Thought Question:Why is an understanding of the physical landscape necessary to better understand the flora and fauna that inhabit an area? Give an example of a specific animal and how understanding the habitat better helps explain the behavior and physical characteristics of the animal.
Guiding Inquiry: What is a biome and what distinguishes one from another? Today's Learning Objective: Students will be able to distinguish between the specific biomes, on the basis of precipitation and temperature characteristics as well as floral and faunal adaptations - and be able to use these understandings in the development of their unit portfolios. (3.2.a, 3.3.a)
Guiding Thought Question: Conduct a web search to find a map that displays one one of the ways in which humans are having a positive or negative affect on the environment. Today's Learning Objective: Students will examine the impact humans have had on the environment by completing a map-quest in which they will need to identify an authoritative map and explain the spatial relationship it represents. They will then further understand thee ways that humans adapt to their environment, impact the environment, and are a reflection of the physical environment by completing a map analysis activity as notes.(3.5.a, 3.5.b, 3.5.c)
