Guiding Thought Question: How does the preservation of land reflect the principles of democracy? Explain your ideas.

Today's Learning Objective: Students will learn about how the National Park Service helps the US Federal Government preserve and protect natural landscapes and learn about possible career paths by visiting with representatives from the US NPS.

Central Question: How does the National Park Service reflect the Federal Government's role to protect the environment (HS.1.1.c)

People vote on what they care about. This means that how the land is protected reflects what the people in the democracy (who vote) want.

The environment is protected by the people. What they vote on is what they want in place for the protections.
