Guiding Inquiry: How do countries work together as individuals as part of a global whole to address larger issues like environmental protection? (1.1.f, 1.1.h, 3.1.b, 3.2.c, 3.5.a)

Guiding Thought Question: Examine the chart above showing global emissions by country and develop a geographic question (rooted it "Where?" "Why There?" "Why Care? or "What Can Be done?") about the data presented above.

Today's Learning Objective: Students examine the different ways in which countries use international agreements and relationship to address large environmental issues by taking note of the sorts of environmental cooperation and then complete a mapping assignment looking at the world's countries involvement in international agreements over space and time.

A lot of the emissions come from largely urbanized countries, Orderly change working towards less emissions, if China were to match the rest of the world in global emissions, it would make a huge difference.

What can be done about countries who don’t want to contribute as much to cutting down emissions? If a big country like the US decides it doesn’t really care about carbon emissions, doesn’t that make everything harder to countries that are working to cut down emissions?
