Forum 6.4 - Explain the Importance of the 14th

Guiding Thought Question: Explain why the 14th Amendment is so important for the protection of civil rights and civil liberties for American citizens. 

Today's Learning Objective: Students will be able to describe the impact of the Civil Rights Movement, American Indian Movement, and the Women's Rights Movement. Students will examine the three movements and take time to learn and teach about the movements to their classmates.

Guiding Thought Question: Based on the different rights granted by the Constitution how would you summarize the fundamental ideas that guide the creation of the US Government?

Today's Learning Objective: Students will be able to explain the different Amendments that have been added to the Constitution and how they have impacted the formation and develop of the US Government. Students will also examine the importance of the 14th Amendment specifically to find out the importance of the Amendment in extending rights to all Americans.
