Central Question: Why are some species spread out while others are concentrated?

Guiding Thought Question:How will species adaptation and specialization act as barriers to them expanding out of their ranges?

Today's Learning Objective:
Students will learn about the differences in Endemic and Cosmopolitan Species by examining examples of species and looking at the modes through which the spread and the barriers that prevent further spread.

If they become to specialized to their area than they will not be able to survive in a place that is too different from their area.

Species are adapted to live in their specific environment so due this it would be hard to expand their ranges as their adaptations are not suited for outside of their environment.

Species can only adapt so much to different environments so their bodies can only take so much

they will adapt to their current range so that they won't have to expand. adaptation will act as its own barrier for a species

Adaptation and Specialization are barriers for species because those animals will become used to the climate, weather, and/or land of the region/sub-region which will end up preventing the species to disperse throughout other regions.

The more specialized a species is to a certain environment, the less able it is to survive in other environments.

if a species is specialized to a certain area then they wont be able to survive in different areas because they are adapted to one environments not others

If animals are specialized and have adapted to a certain area they will not be able to survive somewhere els that is very different.

if a species is too specialized to an area they will be really good at living in that area but it stops their range from expanding because they can't survive other places.

The species has adapted and specialized in the conditions to the area they are in and are unable to adapt to new areas for example colder waters and are adapted to warmer waters and would not be able to survive in other environments.

Species can adapt or specialize to an extent where they have too specific characteristic for one specific area or ecosystem and will be unable to survive an expansion in range, creating a barrier.

If animals are adapted to catch a certain kind of prey of eat a certain kind of plant, a certain climate or area then they will have trouble moving to the other areas.

My first thought was the salmon who Lays their eggs in a specific spot and they always come back there. If they are adapted To an environment they will be more comfortable to there

being familiar with an environment makes it harder to adapt to even the most minor changes due to stronger familiarity and an adversity to change
