Central Question: What role does evolutionary theory have in the distribution of species? Guiding Thought Question: Especially when dealing with scientific theory, why is the continued collection of evidence and observations going to be important in the defense, and continued understanding of a process? Today's Learning Objective: Students will learn about the processes, ways to track, and evidence that supports the role of evolution in species distribution by completing the Evolution Lab and a Map Lab looking at topics related to evolutionary biogeography. |

Because you may gather information left undiscovered or you can apply new information to an already existing research project to strengthen your theories and evidence

Because as long as you keep researching, if you get a different result one time that means you either need to create a new theory or prove that result to be a fluke, and you never know if the theory needs to be changed without researching it again and again.

It is important so we can compare older evidence and newer evidence to help understand processes that happened over time. It will also help us get all the information possible to become experts on the topic at hand.

because when you have certain observations it helps move research along more because the more observations and information you have on something the more you understand it

Because with continued data collection, scientist can then build up their case, giving more supporting evidence in backing up their theories as well as give a more detailed explanation in how their theories are composed and how they function.

Evidence supports the theory you want to prove. Continuing to research in support of your theory is important because some evidence might not be supported by your theory and more observations must be gathered.

Because the more evidence and observations made about a theory the easier it is to defend it.
