Today's Learning Objective:
Students will learn about how Presidents can affect the environment using their powers by examining case studies.

Central Question: Beyond their own powers, how can the president use their environmental policies to mold their legacy? (1.1.c)

Companies should not be allowed to regulate themselves when it comes to environmental policies. The government should pass laws to protect the environment because environmentalism is very close to human rights. Often times when the environment is being exploited, people being exploited.

It should be the government's responsibility to pass laws to protect the environment. This is because companies will always avoid the issue of protecting the environment in order to keep making more sales. With the government, the laws can actually be regulated throughout the country, however, the companies can either slip under the government or they can pay the government in order to avoid the laws, even if their actions are illegal.

Yes! I think the government should be responsible for passing laws that protect the environment. I think large companies should be in charge or regulating themselves and their ecological footprint. The advantage of companies holding themselves accountable is that they can reduce their production of pollution. The negative is that most companies like to pretend they have bettered themselves, but actually push things under the rug to make more money. Most companies ignore environmental policies.

I think the government should be in charge of regulating environmental policies, and no company under ANY circumstance should be able to control that themselves, because they simply wouldn't regulate it.

I think the government should be in charge of passing environmental laws, as companies are going to be more concerned with money rather than environmental protection, and the government can put regulations on the amount of pollution they produce.

The government should be responsible for making laws because some companies wouldn’t do enough to be eco friendly if any at all. It would be good for companies to do it themselves so they could do what’s best for the company and the environment but most would just do what they want for they company

I think the government should be in charge of setting guidelines for the corporations to follow about the environment. If you let the corporation decide they could get greedy and not care about the environment. The government should make them have to be caution about the environment.
