Federal policies can be helpful because the policy does not have exceptions. Every state is held accountable. State level protections can be very specific towards what they are protecting.

It is more helpful to have environmental policies on the federal level because everyone has to abide by them. Of course, states can still be beneficial, however, it would only apply to that state instead of the entire country. This means that it wouldn't be as effective as using the federal level for environmental policies.

It's like if your mom tells you to stay out of the mud vs your neighbor who babysat you when you were a baby telling you to stay out of the mud, mom has way more authority than 19-year-old Stacia does. You'd be much more willing to do what the person with more control tells you than what the person with less control tells you to do.

I think that it is more helpful to have policies regarding the protection of the environment to come from the federal level because at a federal level change can happen quicker but I also think the federal government should work more with state governments to include environmentally conscious laws.

The Federal Government has the most responsibility to protect the environment because environmental protections are most effective when enacted universally, the federal government has the greatest resources and legal authority, and the federal government is more immune to local economic interests.

State level laws can have more specified and practical application and suit the needs of the people. However, federal laws and policies have more jurisdiction and wider coverage that can set standards for everyone.

The federal government has power over all states so if the problem exists in multiple states it would take care of it for all of them and the federal gov has more power

I think it is more beneficial to the federal government to make regulation because they can make things happen faster and can be more efficient in passing regulations

Federal law can set baseline regulations and all states can be expected to follow the same rules. The federal government can make sure no area has significantly less environmental protection than another.
