Guiding Thought Question: Given what you know, explain the difference between the Republican and the Democratic parties? Think about the divisions of power, and what issues the parties emphasize as important. (Note: This is not the place to bash one party or another) Today's Learning Objective: Students will examine voter trends at the state and local level, and examine what type of people typically vote for particular parties. Students will take part in exploratory geoinquiries using ArcGIS and Community Analyst. Students will take notes on the role of political parties, and then examine what the main parties think about a particular issue. |
