Forum 1.4 - Summarize the Perspectives

Guiding Thought Question: Summarize how each of the six different perspectives might view an individual. Personally how do you view the individual psychologically?

Today's Learning Objective: Students will examine and be able to explain how the psychological perspectives are applied on an individual scale. Students will watch TED Talks dealing with explanations of individuals and the psychological perspectives and answer critical thinking questions about them.

Discussion 1.1 - Evolutionary Psychology

Part 1: Read the article by the BBC titled Evolutionary Psychology and explain what the theory is and what role the theory has in understanding psychology. 

Part 2: Critique one of the explanations by one of the others in the forum and either explain what you would change about their explanation, or what in particular you like about their explanation in describing evolutionary psychology.

Guiding Thought Question: How will a psychologist view the world differently than a person not trained in the field? Come up with an example of a behavior and how a psychologist would specifically view the behavior.

Today's Learning Objective: Students will be able to explain the different perspectives of psychology and the different theories that guide the study of Psychology. Students will go over notes dealing with the different perspectives and use those to answer specific critical thinking questions dealing with applications of the perspectives.
