Guiding Inquiry: How can animal companions be used to help alleviate symptoms of mental disorders?

Today's Learning Objective: Students will learn the difference between Therapy Dogs, Companion Animals, and Service Animals, and how they can be used to help certain mental disorders by engaging in discussions about them.

The more pressure you put on yourself the least productive you’ll be which will cause more stress and eventually eat you alive.

Because you have to treat yourself like you would treat other people. The only thing that is going to do is hurt your mental health which in turn makes you worse.

If you work yourself too hard your own health can plummet And can cause a burnout. Your work won't be as good, you won't feel as great with the work you've done and you won't be able concentrate

It is necessary to avoid putting too much pressure on yourself because you will continually build up stress over achieving the best, always wanting more. You will eventually reach a limit of stress

It’s important to let yourself have a break and take time for yourself so you don’t overwork and spiral and make your mental health real bad. Ultimately perfection doesn’t exist, so it is imperative that you take care of yourself like you take care of other people

If you don't take enough time to take care of your self you will wear your self you very quickly.
Also if you always want to try to be perfect then the stress would build up and you would never be able to take a break for trying to be perfect.

Because if you put too much pressure on yourself then you can develop mental disorders that hurt your overall health.

I think taking breaks is needed to not lose it, rather chill out for a bit then overworking yourself

It is necessary to not put too much pressure on yourself because you'll end up burning out and feeling pretty bad due to having too much pressure. In addition to this, it does help to take some breaks and accept that its "good enough" because we're not perfect. If perfection is what you always strive for, then the task is never going to be accomplished. Plus, taking breaks ensures that you'll have enough energy to take care of yourself too.

its sort of like reeling in a fish- you want to keep the line taunt, but you dont want to snap it. fluctuate between pulling and reeling and letting the line go slack to slowly pull your way towards your goal.

It is important to try and not put too much pressure on yourself because at some point that pressure will become to much to the point where you break and just stop doing anything. Being able to look at something and go "I tried my best" is a type of self care that I don't think people think about. Acknowledging that even though not everything went to plan, you worked as hard as you can, and you deserve rest.
