Guiding Thought Question: What group is presently the most important for you? What sociological role does that particular group have for you?

Guiding Inquiry: Why are groups necessary for humans in the organization of societal structures?

Today's Learning Objective: Students will be introduced to the concept of groups by going out into the zoo to find examples of group sociology and comparing how animal groups compare to human groups.

Peer groups because they allow me to be able to be comfortable and I can surround myself with people that I know realistically well and talk to them about things that I need to talk about that I can't talk to with other types of groups.

Family and Friends because you spend most of your time with them and your friends are included in that group. With friends they are important because you can talk to them if you have any problems.

Family because I care most about who they are to me and what they think of me. The way they interact with each other reflects on me and how I act with others. For example, I am what you call a hugger.

Probably family and friends because that's who I spend the most time with and you are most influenced by these groups.
