Chimpanzee Justice - Science Alert: In a Rare Group Killing, Chimpanzees Abused and Cannibalized Their Former Tyrant's Corpse

Guiding Inquiry: How is deviance treated and what measures can be used to reapply conformity to groups?

Today's Learning Objectives: Students will be identifying multiple perspectives towards the approaches towards deviance by completing an investigation of both side and conducting a credibility check on the sources to evaluate strength of argument.

They should ensure every individual gets a fair punishment for any bad deviant behavior done

Instead of just throwing them away and keeping them from society from a while they need actual help whether it be mental or financial so they don’t need to continue to do what they were doing. For certain actions I believe the punishment is necessary tho. Gets pretty grey and mixed and gross stuff

They should be held responsible for how people in prison behave during and after their served time. Prisons should be used as redirection rather than punishments since many don’t react positively to punishment but most react positively to redirection.

It should be punishment and rehabilitate based on what they did

the criminal justice system should work on educational and deterrence of crime rather than punishing people. punishing people doesn’t really do much! it should be more focused on rehabilitation additionally, if punishment happens, they need to reevaluate the types and durations of punishment.

Criminal justice systems should tend to play more of a rehabilitation role in the most just way with deviance rather than a torture punishment to in order to properly condemn and address deviance and change it

To help keep criminals from becoming repeat offenders. And maybe making sure that all the evidence says guilty

it should be a fair punishment for what that individual did and it also shouldn’t just be locking them up and treating them inhumane

I think that the criminal justice system should focus more on reforming people than isolating them. They should also help people in the communities that seem to need the most help.

The criminal justice system should be utilized for reformation. Most people deserve a chance to right their wrongs.

Hold everyone accountable for their own actions. Focus on enforcing punishment, but also reforming so they can go out into the world better people

The criminal justice system focuses on just putting people in jails and separates them from society. Some people only steal to feed their family because the job they have will not pay enough. The criminal justice system should try and reform people. How it is now most people who were in jail are more likely to commit another crime because society has pushed them away.

the system should send people to be put into jails to be separated from the rest of society, and then they should be working on bettering themselves and getting help and then being released back into society as better people.

They should be there to rehabilitate and help people out who've done wrong. They should rot if it's a brutal murder or a pedophile

They should make sure that every punishment is fair and that is should reflect what the crime was.

Everyone deserves a fair amount of time in jail depending on the crime done.
