Forum 8.1 - Contemplate Your Outside Time

5/4/2022

Guiding Thought Question: Head outside and find a good spot where you can sit on your own to contemplate the following questions.
     - How much time do you spend outside in a typical week doing outdoor activities? (Doing what?)
     - What does your outside activities do personally for you mentally? Physically?
     - How could you personally benefit from more outside time?

Guiding Inquiry: What is your current relationship with the outdoors and what areas can you improve on?

i don’t really spend any time outside because of school and work and i really like my bed. i mean when i’m outside it’s nice to skate and the warm weather makes me happier so it increases my mood. i could benefit more from being outside because it can make my mental health and physical health better throughout the summer going into a new school year

I honestly spend about 10 minutes outside weekly and that's when I usually go to class. Other than that, I usually walk around the neighborhood occasionally.
The activities I usually do outside usually help to make me more motivated and awake. Plus, they also help get me get more exercise as well.
I could benefit from more outside time because I don't feel motivated to do things a lot and I'm usually more tired. By going outside, I could possibly eliminate these issues.

In the winter I don't go out as much but during the warmer temperature I get outside a lot 2 maybe 3 hours doing sports, walking, or fishing. These help me calm down and enjoy the time outside. Being outside makes you happier and more relaxed

During the school year / when its cold outside I spend very little time outside. Probably 3-5 hours a week and thats mostly because I walk around the zoo. When it gets warm I like to chill and read on my deck so it takes my mind off stress and such. I think more time outside would give more vitamin D and just more time to be more active.

well with school and work i havent had much time to be outside but normally i take my dog on 30 minuet walks after work and during the summer im outside all the time. being outside it makes me clear my mind and just enjoy nature as well as get rid of anxiety and it also makes me super happy. being outside helps me get in shape because when im outside im normally out there for a few hours just exploring the neighborhood and going on bike rides. Again me being outside more will help me relax and enjoy nature while i can stop stressing about things like school work and its like my escape from negitivity sometimes.

* How much time do you spend outside in a typical week doing outdoor activities? (Doing what?). About 2 hours in total pretty much everyday I take my dog for a walk or me and my bf go for a walk

* What does your outside activities do personally for you mentally? Physically? Mentally- helps me focus more throughout the day. Physically- helps my iron deficiency and my body stay in a good shape.

* How could you personally benefit from more outside time? Probably have my body in even better shape and less anxiety

School year- 0 hrs
Summer- 30min-6 hours (walking, sitting outside, etc)
Outside activities give me a sense of tranquility and make me happier (especially if it’s very green out).
I think i could benefit mentally from going outside more. i personally feel like sitting outside reduces my feelings of boredom and sadness.

honestly i don't know for sure how many hours i spend outside, but i usually go for walks and just sit outside.
it helps me to clear my head and the walking keeps me in shape.
just to hangout with my new baby kittens, and spending some time in the sun
